Sharon Setser
1950 - 2005
After an eight year battle with ovarian cancer, my loving mother Sharon Setser went home to be with the Lord on Friday,
December 16, 2005. Born on January 17, 1950, Sharon was the daughter of the late Farris and Della McCoy Moore. She was preceded
in death by both parents as well as two brothers; Robert and Raymond Moore. Survivors include husband; Blaine Setser, a daughter,
Della Juanita Setser and a son, Blaine Adam Setser all of Inez, Ky. She is also survived by two sisters; Dottie Bush of Jacksonville,
Florida and Colleen Delong of Prestonsburg, Ky.
Sharon was a dedicated, loving mother and wife, but most of all she was dedicated to the Lord. She was a member of Bethel
United Baptist Church. Serving the Lord was her life. It was her main priority. She became a Christian at the tender age of
eighteen. She started taking me to church when I was only a week old. Going to church every Sunday and Thursday night was
one of her rituals. Even when she was sick she would still try to make her way to church. If she couldn’t get there
she would call the brothers and sisters and ask them to have church at our house.
She was a woman of strong faith. Never in my life have I seen someone with as much faith as she had. She was always humble
and kind to everyone. You never heard her talk about anyone.
Sharon endured so much pain, disappointments and heartaches during her life span, yet, she never complained. Whenever something
would go wrong I would ask her, “Mom, aren’t you worried?” and she would flash a smile and proudly say,
“ Everything is in the Lord’s hands. He will take care of everything. There isn’t no use in worrying about
it.” She set a wonderful example to everyone that she knew. I only hope that I could be a strong Christian like she
was and have as much faith as she did. She was and still is my best friend. Momma, I love you always.
